Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ichi Fujita!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenshiro Yamamoto!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fujita misses with a jab, cross combination.
Fujita looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Yamamoto tries to clinch up.

Yamamoto drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Yamamoto tries to move to mount but Fujita blocks the move with his legs.

Yamamoto is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Fujita knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Yamamoto changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Fujita looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fujita is looking for a sweep.

Fujita manages to work his way to half guard, despite Yamamoto's best efforts.
Fujita tries to roll over but Yamamoto keeps him under control.

Fujita looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Yamamoto is looking for a kimura but Fujita is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Yamamoto to get the leverage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Fujita looks for the body kick but Yamamoto saw that one coming.
Yamamoto checks the leg kick nicely there.
Yamamoto tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fujita paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Yamamoto fails to land the takedown.
Yamamoto shoots in but Fujita avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Fujita fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Yamamoto looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Fujita!
Fujita is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Yamamoto lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Fujita is desperately trying to improve his position but Yamamoto has a good base and remains in mount.

Yamamoto lands a heavy elbow.
Yamamoto forces the positional change into back control.
Fujita prevents Yamamoto from getting a body triangle.
Fujita is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Yamamoto working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

Yamamoto is persistently looking for the submission but Fujita is defending it well.

Fujita preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Yamamoto.
I really don't envy Fujita right now.
Fujita is working hard here to advance position.
Yamamoto is riding his opponent, not letting Fujita buck him off.
You can see the frustration on Fujita's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Fujita's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Fujita looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Fujita rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Yamamoto moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Yamamoto misses with a straight right.
Fujita throws a head kick that misses.
Yamamoto shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fujita as he jumps to the side.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yamamoto misses with an uppercut.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Yamamoto tries for a takedown but Fujita sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Yamamoto moves out of range of the body kick from Fujita.
Fujita throws a leg kick which misses Yamamoto's front leg but catches the back leg as Yamamoto tries to avoid it.

A head kick misses from Yamamoto.
Fujita misses with a wild combination.
Fujita is looking to land body kicks.
Fujita tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Yamamoto avoids the head kick by Fujita.
No luck for Yamamoto with that takedown attempt.
Ichi Fujita has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenshiro Yamamoto.
Horrible takedown by Yamamoto or perhaps it was just good defense by Fujita which made him look bad.
Fujita throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Yamamoto.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Yamamoto is looking to clinch.
Yamamoto will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Yamamoto shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fujita pinned against the cage. Fujita gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Yamamoto misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Yamamoto avoids a punch combination nicely.
Yamamoto throws a right and a left that both miss.
Fujita pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Fujita misses with a two punch combination.
Yamamoto misses with a hook. Fujita ducked under it nicely.

Yamamoto looking to isolate an arm here. Fujita doesn't see it coming and as Yamamoto extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Yamamoto!
