Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jebba Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jay Daniels!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Daniels shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Johnson dodges the punch combination from Daniels.
Johnson moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Jay Daniels has been cut.
Daniels looks for a takedown but Johnson sprawls well.
Daniels looks to land a left hand but Johnson moved out of range nicely.
Daniels misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Johnson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Johnson.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Johnson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Daniels has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Johnson but great work by Daniels.
Daniels tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Johnson manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Johnson wants to free his trapped foot but Daniels is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Daniels is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson tries to pass to full mount but Daniels defends it.
Johnson is looking to take a break and control but Daniels is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Daniels has hold of Johnson's hands but Johnson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Daniels avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Johnson.

Johnson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Daniels is just riding it out for now. Johnson eventually gives up the hold.

Johnson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Daniels doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Johnson.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Daniels lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Daniels shoots in looking for a takedown. Johnson tries to sprawl out of it but Daniels keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Johnson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Johnson has picked Daniels up - he's going for a ride! Johnson dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Daniels is trying to stand.

Johnson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Daniels is just riding it out for now. Johnson eventually gives up the hold.

Daniels shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Johnson but Johnson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jay Daniels seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Daniels is breathing heavily.
Johnson misses with a few strikes there.
Nice uppercut there from Daniels.
A looping hook to the body misses from Daniels. Johnson does a little dance to reset his feet.

Daniels throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Johnson.
Johnson throws a series of punches but Daniels moves out of range.
Johnson shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jebba Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jebba Johnson will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Johnson with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Daniels shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Johnson is trying to defend but Daniels finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Johnson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Daniels is working away from the top position though.
Daniels wants to stand but Johnson has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Daniels takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Johnson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Daniels is working away from the top position though.
Daniels is keen to just control but Johnson is a slippery customer.
Johnson throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Johnson wants to improve his position but Daniels is controlling well.

Daniels seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Johnson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Daniels throws a series of punches but Johnson avoids them all with ease.

Jebba Johnson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Sloppy strikes from Daniels. Those never looked like landing.
Johnson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Daniels circles away quickly and effectively.
Johnson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Daniels is fending him off so far but Johnson persists. Nope, Daniels circles away and we're back to standing.
Johnson is looking to chop away at Daniels's legs.

and Daniels counters with a straight right hand.
A punch combination from Daniels misses.
Daniels throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Johnson's waist but Johnson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Daniels off to one side.

Johnson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Daniels is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Johnson asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
