Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zack Allan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Hain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Allan's entrance music is FLAMES. A fine choice. Hain has chosen Time Frame by Dom and Roland as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zack Allan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sam Hain!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hain thows a left - swing and a miss!
Hain darts in trying to clinch

and Allan counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hain!
Hain wants to control but Allan is having none of it.
Allan controlling the pace for now.
Hain is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Allan tries to control but Hain wriggling away.
Hain gets back to half guard.
Hain trying to control but Allan postures up.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Allan prevents Hain from improving his position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Allan content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Hain wants to control but Allan is keeping busy.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Zack Allan just wasn't active enough.
Allan with a poor takedown
and Hain counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hain wants to clinch

and Allan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Allan keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Hain manages to get to full guard.
Allan is pushing down on Hain's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hain is fighting to maintain full guard but Allan has managed to sneak the leg through.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Allan tries to stand and escape but Hain actually recovers to full guard.

Hain had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Allan defends it easily.
Allan wants to control from the top but Hain keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Allan wants to stand but Hain has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Hain has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Allan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hain is looking for a triangle but Allan pushes his legs off easily.
Allan is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Allan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hain is keeping the position for now.

Hain has his foot on Allan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Allan works his way back into a safe position though.

Allan wants to control from the top but Hain keeps moving.

Hain looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Hain is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Allan is aware though and is defending well.

Hain has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Allan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Allan slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Zack Allan has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Hain shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hain showed some decent athleticism there.

Allan wants to get back to full guard.
Hain seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Allan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Allan is trying to stand.
Allan wants to improve his position but Hain is controlling well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hain missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Hain prevents Allan from standing back up.
Allan avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hain.
Hain moves into full mount! Allan won't be happy about that!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Allan wants to hold on but Hain pushes him away.
Allan is bucking up trying to escape but Hain cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Allan keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Zack Allan will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


No luck for Hain with that takedown attempt.
Allan tries for a takedown but Hain sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hain shoots in for a takedown but Allan shows good takedown defense.
Hain fails to land the takedown.
Zack Allan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Hain.

Hain instigates a clinch.
Allan wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hain has him pressed against the cage.

Allan manages to break the clinch.
Hain moves to clinch but Allan breaks away

and Allan counters with a shoot takedown. Hain fights it but they end up in guard.
Hain looking to control.
Allan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hain swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Allan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hain has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Allan has managed to get both his arms back between Hain's legs - danger averted.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Allan decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hain, up you get!

Hain is breathing heavily.
Hain tries to clinch but Allan is having none of it.
Hain wants to clinch up but Allan keeps it at a distance.

letting Hain counter with a right hand.

enabling Hain to counter with a crisp jab.

Hain shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Allan is trying to defend but Hain finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Allan is trying to control but can't.
Zack Allan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hain prevents Allan from standing back up.

Allan kicks Hain off and gets back to his feet.
Hain throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Allan counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hain!

Allan is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
Allan wants to control but instead Hain manages to regain half guard.
Allan looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Hain actively working from the bottom here.
Allan wants to take a breather but Hain is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hain tries to get to full guard but Allan has control of the leg.

Allan is looking to take a break and control but Hain is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Allan content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Allan wants to control for a moment but Hain uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Allan's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Allan is looking to stand up but Hain won't let him.

Allan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Allan passes Hain's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Hain shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Allan pinned against the cage. Allan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hain stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hain wants it to stay on the feet.

Hain has managed to clinch.
Allan wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hain has him pressed against the cage.
Allan is trying to break the clinch but Hain is controlling him.

Allan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hain tries to clinch but Allan moves out of range.
Hain throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Allan closes the distance and clinches up with Hain, looking for a takedown. Allan pushes Hain against the cage but Hain circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hain fails in his attempt to clinch.

Hain looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Allan is fending him off so far but Hain persists. Nope, Allan circles away and we're back to standing.
Allan moves out of range as Hain strikes.
Hain tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Allan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hain's guard.
Hain takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Hain not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Allan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hain is keeping the position for now.
Allan slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Hain tries to bench press Allan off him but Allan keeps the position.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Hain is not content to let Allan control the position.

Allan closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Allan lands in his opponent's guard.

Hain is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Allan is aware though and is defending well.

Allan gets to his feet. Hain looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

and Allan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Hain moves into full guard.

Hain is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Allan is aware though and is defending well.
Sam Hain has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Allan wants to control from the top but Hain keeps moving.
Allan is looking to stand up but Hain won't let him.
Hain is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Zack Allan.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hain looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Allan shoots and misses
and Hain connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Hain gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Allan to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Allan content to stall in guard here.
Hain is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Allan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hain is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Zack Allan showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Allan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
