The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Beauvais finds it's way round the side to connect with Hughes's head.

Beauvais gets caught napping as Hughes dives in and scores a takedown. Beauvais manages to retain guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Hughes sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Hughes wants to pass the guard but Beauvais is keeping the position.
Beauvais looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Hughes decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Beauvais, up you get!

Hughes closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Beauvais quickly recovers to half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Beauvais is looking to control Hughes's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Beauvais avoid being mounted?

Matt Hughes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Hughes has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Beauvais is proving hard to escape from.
