The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abuabu lands a nice hook to Ferrell's body. Ferrell takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Ferrell moves into the clinch.

Ferrell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Abuabu lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ferrell circles away quickly and effectively.

It looks like Will Ferrell has been cut.

Ferrell shoots in for a double leg but Abuabu sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Abuabu jabs Ferrell to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Abuabu cracks a nice hook into Ferrell's ribs.
Ferrell walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Abuabu is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Ferrell had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Abuabu goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
The crowd cheers as Abuabu lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ferrell doesn't seem phased though.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Abuabu lands a head kick. Ferrell smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Ferrell closes the distance and clinches.
Ferrell is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Abuabu is defending well.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Abuabu throws a punch but it's blocked by Ferrell.

Ferrell breaks from the clinch.
