Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Olson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Holmes as he jumps to the side.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Olson.
Sami Holmes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gary Olson.
Holmes closes this distance looking for a takedown but Olson circles away.
Olson shoots in for a takedown but Holmes shows good takedown defense.
Gary Olson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Olson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

We're going to have a standup here because Sami Holmes wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Holmes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Olson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Olson throws a hook to the side of Holmes's head but Holmes sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Olson tries for a takedown but Holmes sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
The fight moves into the clinch position.

Olson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Holmes pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Olson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Holmes avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Olson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Holmes smiles and moves away.
Olson moves into the clinch.
Olson jumps guard but Holmes turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Olson jumps guard but Holmes stands there with Olson around his waist. Olson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Holmes lands a takedown into guard.
Holmes drops back looking for a leg! Olson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Olson manages to kick Holmes off! Holmes jumps back into Olson's guard.
Holmes slips nicely into half guard.
Holmes is keen to just control but Olson is a slippery customer.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Holmes is pressing down on Olson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Olson is holding on for now.
Holmes decides to return to a standing position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Sami Holmes will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Holmes tries for a takedown but Olson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Olson clinches.
Olson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Holmes shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Holmes showed some decent athleticism there.
Holmes wants to free his trapped foot but Olson is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Holmes is trying to control the action in half guard but Olson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Holmes not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Holmes is working for a submission of some sort.
Olson looks like he's trying to stand up.
Holmes lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Olson wants to improve his position but Holmes is controlling well.
Holmes stops Olson from getting back to his feet.
Olson is breathing heavily.
Olson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Holmes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Olson is staying active underneath Holmes, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Holmes stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Olson to get to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Olson is defended easily by Holmes.
Holmes closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Holmes is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Olson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Holmes wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Olson, who protects the arm well.

Olson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Holmes is working away from the top position though.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Holmes moves to back control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Holmes has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Olson! Can he survive? No! He's out! Holmes gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
