Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Igor Pojacro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Ericsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pojacro motions for Ericsen to come forward. Pojacro throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Pojacro closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ericsen did well to prevent Pojacro getting side control.
Ericsen tries to kick Pojacro off but Pojacro keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The strikes coming from Pojacro are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ericsen is desperately trying to improve his position but Pojacro has a good base and remains in mount.
Ericsen suckers Pojacro into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Ericsen is now in Pojacro's guard!

Igor Pojacro has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Ericsen slaps away a takedown attempt from Pojacro, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Pojacro throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Ericsen closes the distance and pushes Pojacro back into the cage.
Ericsen tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Ericsen drags the fight down to the ground.

Pojacro would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ericsen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pojacro manages to get himself to full guard.

A close round but Shawn Ericsen will probably get the nod.

Pojacro doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Ericsen counters with a single leg into guard. Pojacro didn't expect that.

Ericsen gets to his feet. Pojacro looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Pojacro tries to close the distance and clinch but Ericsen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Ericsen decides to stand up, so the ref orders Pojacro to his feet.

Ericsen tries to clinch up but Pojacro circles away and keeps his distance.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Shawn Ericsen wasn't active enough on the ground.

Pojacro jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ericsen walks away with a smile on his face. Pojacro gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Pojacro does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Pojacro shoots in looking for a takedown. Ericsen tries to sprawl out of it but Pojacro keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ericsen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Igor Pojacro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Shawn Ericsen is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Pojacro swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
