Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivera slow jab from Deteike misses its intended target.
Rivera shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rivera closes this distance looking for a takedown but Deteike circles away.

so Rivera counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Deteike throws his legs up looking for a submission but Rivera uses it to pass to side control.
Rivera grinds an elbow into Deteike's temple.
Rivera working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Deteike wants to control but Rivera postures up.

Deteike tries to buck Rivera off but Rivera is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Deteike is looking to improve his position but Rivera isn't that keen on the idea.
Rivera has hold of Deteike's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Deteike manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Rivera is not going to allow Deteike to sit and survive in this position.
Rivera has the hooks in. Deteike is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Rivera lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Rivera.

Rivera is trying to stick to Deteike's back but Deteike is turning into Rivera. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Rivera's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Deteike.
Deteike knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rivera on the ground.

Deteike looking to sit in guard and control but Rivera gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Deteike can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rivera controls the pace.
Rivera is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Deteike misses with a takedown attempt
and Rivera counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Deteike's guard now.
Deteike is trying to control the position but Rivera postures up.

Rivera is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Deteike looks calm but he's in trouble here. Rivera gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Deteike is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Rivera lets go of the hold and Deteike can pop his arm back in it's socket.
