The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guy misses with a takedown

and Nir counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Nir in particular looking to stall.

Guy tries to roll over but Nir keeps him under control.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Nir tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nir seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Guy for as long as he can get away with.

Nir is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Guy can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Nir seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nir stands and throws Guy's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Guy is trying to work for a sweep but Nir has mounted him!

Nir has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Guy defend it? Nir steps over the head and cranks it - Guy is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Nir!
