The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hopkins blocks a head kick by Johnson.
Hopkins tries to close the distance and clinch but Johnson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Hopkins darts in and clinches Johnson up against the cage.

Johnson is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Hopkins off. It looks like it's working - Hopkins slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Johnson displaying calm under pressure there.

Johnson will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Hopkins throws a jab when Johnson was well out of range.
Johnson fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Hopkins checks it well.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Johnson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Hopkins has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Hopkins and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Johnson is pressed up against the cage. Hopkins has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Johnson down to the mat. Johnson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Hopkins scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Johnson is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Hopkins can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
