The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez is looking to clinch but Maxis is avoiding it.
Maxis throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Alvarez is defended easily by Maxis.
Alvarez dives in and grabs Maxis's left leg, looking for a takedown. Maxis pushes down on Alvarez's head and hops out.
Maxis lands a jab to the head.

It looks like Brad Alvarez has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A looping hook to the body misses from Maxis. Alvarez does a little dance to reset his feet.
Alvarez with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Maxis to score with a decent uppercut.

Maxis throws a monster overhand right that drops Alvarez! Maxis follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
