PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simon Adebisi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen Dyzer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dyzer is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by New Divide. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Simon Adebisi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Stephen Dyzer!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dyzer throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Adebisi stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
No joy there for Adebisi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Adebisi tries to bum rush Dyzer with a series of wild strikes but Dyzer uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Dyzer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Adebisi as he avoids it easily.
Dyzer lands with a shot to the body.
Dyzer on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Dyzer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Adebisi moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Adebisi throws a series of punches but Dyzer moves out of range.
Dyzer connects with a looping right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Adebisi lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.


It looks like Stephen Dyzer has been cut.

Good leg kick by Adebisi there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Dyzer is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Adebisi rather than just go for the knockout.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dyzer is looking to work some ground and pound but Adebisi has wrist control.
Dyzer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Adebisi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dyzer postures up in Adebisi's guard and throws a big left but Adebisi blocks it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Dyzer feints and as Adebisi raises his hands in defense, Dyzer changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Dyzer wants to pass the guard but Adebisi is keeping the position.

Adebisi wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Simon Adebisi.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Dyzer counters with a shoot takedown. Adebisi fights it but they end up in guard.

Adebisi has his feet on Dyzer's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Dyzer jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Adebisi is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Adebisi and Dyzer has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Dyzer wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Adebisi, who protects the arm well.

Adebisi tries to close the distance and clinch but Dyzer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Dyzer is trying to trip Adebisi. He has hold of a leg but Adebisi is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Dyzer persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Dyzer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Adebisi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
