Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Calahan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ken Rockwell!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Alyssa Summers and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rockwell swinging wildly here.

Rockwell changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Calahan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Calahan on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Calahan tries to get out of the position.
Calahan prevents Rockwell from improving position.

Rockwell decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Rockwell leaves Calahan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Rockwell scores with a jab to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Calahan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Rockwell scores with the left hand. Calahan knows he should have avoided that one.


It looks like Mark Calahan has been cut.
Calahan is breathing heavily.
Calahan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Rockwell throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Calahan tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Rockwell is in Calahan's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rockwell throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Calahan keeping moving, preventing Rockwell from controlling successfully.

Rockwell decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Rockwell shoots in and gets a takedown into Calahan's guard.
Rockwell forces his way into half guard.
Calahan is controlling Rockwell's trapped leg to prevent Rockwell from advancing to side control.
Rockwell stops Calahan from getting back to his feet.
Calahan tries to get to full guard but Rockwell has control of the leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Rockwell is trying for a kimura here. Calahan looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Rockwell wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Ken Rockwell!
