The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clipse lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Rogers chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Clipse can pounce on him.

Clipse drives through and clinches with Rogers against the cage.
Clipse dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Rogers avoiding damage as Clipse throws knees to the body.
Clipse manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Rogers jumps guard.

Clipse stands up and waves to Rogers to follow him.

Clipse throws a looping overhand right but Rogers ducks down to avoid it.

Clipse throws a right hand that Rogers ducks under and follows up with a left that Rogers also avoids with ease.

Rogers drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Clipse manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rogers has Clipse in his guard.

Rogers is looking for a sweep. Clipse is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Clipse is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rogers is trying to maintain the position but Clipse is very close to passing his half guard.

Rogers is trying to get back to full guard.
Clipse wants to stand up but Rogers is controlling the position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
