Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jake Kerns!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Novak fails with the takedown

and Kerns decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Novak's guard.
Kerns wants to control from the top but Novak keeps moving.
Kerns pushes down on Novak's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Kerns scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Kerns wants to lay and pray for a moment but Novak keeps working.

Kerns has control of an arm but Novak manages to advance to Kerns's back!
Novak thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
Kerns has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Kerns is covering up but some of the strikes from Novak are getting through and doing damage.

Novak is striking well from the back but Kerns escapes and manages to control the positon and works his way to half guard. A much better position - the crisis is over for the time being.

Kerns makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Novak tries to clinch but Kerns is having none of it.

so Kerns counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Kerns prevents Novak from getting back to his feet.
Kerns is fighting to break Novak's control of his arms but Novak is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Kerns sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Kerns lands a couple of digs.
Kerns seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Kerns connects with a couple of short punches.
Novak throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Novak will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kerns distracts Novak with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Kerns has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Novak on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Novak tries to get out of the position.

Novak is bucking up trying to escape but Kerns cracks him with another couple of good strikes.


It looks like Jacob Novak has been cut.
Novak is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kerns raining down shots from the mount!
The referee warns Novak that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Kerns blocks Novak's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

Novak is in a horrible position here. Kerns smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Novak knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kerns on the ground.
Kerns connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
BOOM! Kerns connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Kerns landing punches.
Kerns fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!


Novak is rocked!
Kerns postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Novak in real trouble here! The ref calls for Novak to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jake Kerns!
