Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Shanon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Machette Gashiko!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shanon fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Shanon walks into a stiff left hand from Gashiko.
Gashiko has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Gashiko there as he acknowledges the shot.
Nice cross by Gashiko.

Shanon moves into the clinch.
Gashiko has Shanon pressed against the cage.
Shanon is looking to break free of the clinch but Gashiko has double underhooks.
Shanon swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Shanon tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Shanon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gashiko throws out a loose jab but Shanon uses good head movement to avoid it.

Gashiko moves into the clinch.
Gashiko lands an uppercut.

Shanon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Gashiko defending well as Shanon loads up on a big left hand.
Shanon fails to land the takedown.

Gashiko thows a left - swing and a miss!
Shanon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gashiko pinned against the cage. Gashiko gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gashiko cracks Shanon with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Gashiko displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Shanon.
Shanon is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gashiko on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Shanon gets tackled into the cage by Gashiko. Gashiko maintains the clinch.
Gashiko lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Gashiko lands with a short shot to the head.
Gashiko lands a right hand.

Gashiko scores with a shoulder strike.
Gashiko lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Shanon backwards.

Gashiko breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Gashiko moves into the clinch.
Gashiko lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Shanon tries to pull guard but Gashiko holds him up against the cage and eventually Shanon drops back down to his feet.
Shanon is trying to pull guard but Gashiko has him pressed against the cage.
Gashiko gets through Shanon's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Gashiko lands a right hand that snaps the head of Shanon backwards.
Shanon has had enough of the clinch but Gashiko keeps him there for the moment.

Gashiko content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Gashiko has Shanon pushed against the cage.
A nice left hand lands by Gashiko.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gashiko throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Gashiko lands an uppercut.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Shanon wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Gashiko has him pressed against the cage.
Gashiko lands an uppercut.
Shanon is trying to maintain a safe position but Gashiko gets an underhook and turns Shanon into the cage.
Gashiko is leaning against Shanon and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Machette Gashiko dominated that round.
The cut man is working on James Shanon's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Gashiko stuffs the takedown attempt from Shanon. Shanon gets slowly back to his feet.
Shanon throws a right hand that Gashiko ducks under and follows up with a left that Gashiko also avoids with ease.
Gashiko defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Shanon.
A lazy left from Shanon finds it's target.
Shanon on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Gashiko throws a shot to the body.

Gashiko lands a big right hand that sends Shanon crashing to the mat! Gashiko stays standing though and waves Shanon back to his feet!


Shanon is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gashiko instigates a clinch.
Oh Shanon is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Shanon is trying to pull guard but Gashiko turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Gashiko manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Gashiko lands a left hand.
Shanon seems to have got his legs back now.

Gashiko scores with a shoulder strike.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Gashiko lands a body punch.
Gashiko will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Shanon up against the cage.
Gashiko pushes Shanon back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Shanon. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Shanon takes a shot to the head.
Gashiko has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Gashiko stalling.

Gashiko escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gashiko walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Shanon drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Gashiko swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Shanon's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Machette Gashiko!
