Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Grisha Kameonov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chen Zen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kameonov's entrance music is The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus- False Pretense. A fine choice. Zen is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Michael Jackson - Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough . Kameonov has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Grisha Kameonov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chen Zen!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good leg kick by Zen there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Kameonov decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Zen pushes Kameonov off looking to stand but Kameonov dives back in and keeps control.

Kameonov is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Kameonov is breathing heavily.
Kameonov is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Zen scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Kameonov throws a sloppy head kick and Zen moves out of range easily.
Zen fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kameonov looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Kameonov tries to keep at a distance but Zen has taken the fight into the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Zen is stalling here.

Kameonov has clasped his hands together around Zen's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Zen is pushing Kameonov's head away, looking to escape. Kameonov manages to hold on to the position though.

Kameonov swings around for an armbar but Zen sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kameonov's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zen decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Kameonov gets tackled into the cage by Zen. Zen maintains the clinch.

Zen manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kameonov wanted to stand there but Zen had control of the position.

Zen wriggles free and stands up.
Zen scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Zen has managed to clinch.

Zen turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Zen manages to end up in side control.

Zen stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Kameonov gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Zen manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Kameonov shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kameonov showed some decent athleticism there.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Zen can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kameonov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Zen doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kameonov.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Zen kicks off Kameonov and gets to his feet.
Zen moves in looking to clinch but Kameonov pushes him off.

Kameonov drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Zen is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Zen pushes Kameonov off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Zen stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Zen connects with a right hand. Kameonov shakes it off.
Zen darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Kameonov drives through with a takedown into Zen's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Kameonov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kameonov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Zen has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Kameonov off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Zen closes the distance and pushes Kameonov back into the cage.

Zen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kameonov pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Zen rushes Kameonov and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Grisha Kameonov overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kameonov is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Zen still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Zen has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Zen decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Kameonov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Zen throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Zen is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Kameonov stands up and waves to Zen to follow him.
Zen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kameonov swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Zen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Zen working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Kameonov tries to get to full guard but Zen has control of the leg.

Kameonov has hold of Zen's hands but Zen slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kameonov takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Kameonov is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Zen stands up and we're back to a striking position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Chen Zen will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Zen's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Zen duly obliges.

Zen clinches up with Kameonov and pushes him back against the cage.

Kameonov gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Kameonov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Zen pushes Kameonov off and scrambles back to his feet.

Kameonov is working to tighten is grip on Zen's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Zen has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Kameonov is really squeezing tight and eventually Zen passes out! Kameonov breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
