Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steve Rockert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Andrews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rockert slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Andrews misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Andrews tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rockert swivels and escapes.

Rockert moves into the clinch.
Rockert has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Andrews avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rockert connects with a nice short shot to Andrews's temple.

Rockert seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rockert uses his free foot to push down on Andrews's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Andrews.

Andrews is breathing heavily.
Rockert cracks Andrews with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Andrews is rocked!
Rockert unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Andrews wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Rockert celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
