Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Kurt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sajuan Gomes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomes takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Kurt jabs at Gomes's body.

Kurt tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Gomes smiles and moves away.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kurt holds on and takes a little breather.
Gomes wants to control from the top but Kurt keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kurt utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kurt pulls Gomes in close to his closed guard and prevents Gomes from doing any damage or advancing position.
Kurt's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Gomes is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Gomes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gomes slaps away a takedown attempt from Kurt, before circling back to the center of the mat.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dan Kurt will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

and Gomes counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kurt won't be happy with that.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kurt regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Gomes.
Gomes wants to control from the top but Kurt keeps moving.

Kurt has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Gomes off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Kurt leaves Gomes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Horrible takedown by Kurt or perhaps it was just good defense by Gomes which made him look bad.

Dan Kurt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kurt is trying to drag Gomes to the mat but Gomes just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dan Kurt.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kurt, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
