Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tyler Van Sant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Corey Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Van Sant comes to the cage accompanied by Amino. Corey Smith is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Corey Smith!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jorge Garcia and Lou da Vinci.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Van Sant takes one to the side of the head.
Smith throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Van Sant fails with the takedown.
Van Sant shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Van Sant throws a head kick that misses.
Van Sant tries to clinch up but Smith circles away and keeps his distance.
Smith uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Van Sant has time to react.
Van Sant shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Smith as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyler Van Sant. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A jab lands there for Smith.

Van Sant is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smith looks to land a combination but Van Sant avoids it well.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Van Sant is defended easily by Smith.
Smith scores with a jab to the head.
Oh Van Sant is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Corey Smith is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Van Sant misses with the combination.
Van Sant seems to have got his legs back now.
Van Sant shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Smith as he avoids it easily.
Van Sant is breathing heavily.

Smith drops Van Sant with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Van Sant looks back up at him and smiles so Smith waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Van Sant.
Smith lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Van Sant is looking to close the distance but Smith sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Van Sant crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Van Sant is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
