Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Duff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Tyson Duff has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyson Duff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anthony Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Columbo Gatti and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good shot there by Duff.
Johnson slips a jab and a cross from Duff.
Duff will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Duff will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Duff counters with a three punch combo that has Johnson backing up. Johnson nods at Duff to acknowledge the strikes.

Duff misses with a jab, cross combination.
No joy there for Duff, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Johnson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Johnson tries to clinch there but Duff circles away.

Duff shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Duff wants to stand up but Johnson manages to regain full guard.
Johnson is pulling down on Duff's head to control his posture.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Duff wants to stand and escape but instead Johnson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Anthony Johnson has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Duff rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Johnson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Duff looks to land a combination but Johnson avoids it well.
Johnson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Duff wants to get back to his feet.

Johnson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Duff defends it well.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Duff is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Duff pushes Johnson off but Johnson dives into side control.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Anthony Johnson will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Duff is trying to break the clinch but Johnson is controlling him.

Duff wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Duff has had enough of the clinch but Johnson keeps him there for the moment.
Duff has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Johnson has Duff pressed against the cage, preventing Duff from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Johnson pulls guard.
Duff tries to stand but Johnson is controlling from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Duff decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Johnson, up you get!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tyson Duff.
I think Duff has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
