Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stan Gage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Lynott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lynott has chosen Out in the Fields as his entrance music. Phil Lynott has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Stan Gage!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Phil Lynott!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gage is defended easily by Lynott.
Lynott throws a half hearted mid kick.
Lynott misses with a head kick.
Gage tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lynott sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gage somewhat.
Lynott fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gage takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Gage tries for a takedown but Lynott sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stan Gage. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lynott tries to bum rush Gage with a series of wild strikes but Gage uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Gage dives in and grabs Lynott's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lynott pushes down on Gage's head and hops out.
Gage throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lynott scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gage shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lynott as he jumps to the side.
Lynott avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gage will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Lynott drops Gage with a left right combo! Lynott follows him down to the ground into side control.
Gage is breathing heavily.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Lynott tries to stand but Gage is controlling his head.

Gage can't do much from the bottom here.
The ground and pound from Lynott seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Lynott really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gage. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gage wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Gage seems a little lost for a moment, as Lynott dominates the positioning.

Gage manages to work his way to half guard, despite Lynott's best efforts.

Lynott decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Lynott throws a right and a left that Gage avoids nicely.
Lynott misses with a two punch combination.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Lynott checks a leg kick.
Lynott shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Gage eats them both and turns towards Lynott to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lynott sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Gage to the ground! Lynott dives into full mount looking to finish!

Oh Gage is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lynott wants to control the pace but Gage is squirming around nicely.
Gage wants to control but Lynott is having none of it.
Lynott tries to control but Gage wriggling away.
Gage seems to have got his legs back now.
Lynott controlling from the full mount.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Gage holds on for dear life, controlling Lynott's posture momentarily.
Gage is looking to improve his position but Lynott isn't that keen on the idea.

Gage makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Phil Lynott dominated that round.

Gage shoots in for a double leg but Lynott sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Phil Lynott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A head kick lands from Lynott that sends Gage to the canvas. Gage tries to scramble back to his feet but Lynott brings him back down into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

You can see the frustration on Gage's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Lynott decides to stand up, so the ref orders Gage to his feet.

Lynott drives through with a takedown into Gage's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Gage has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lynott can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Lynott shoots in and bounces Gage off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Lynott wants to get up but he can't break Gage's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Gage is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Lynott has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Gage looking for a triangle here. Lynott is fighting it but it looks tight! Gage pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Lynott is tapping out - this one is all over!
