And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jay Who!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franklin jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Who ducks under a wild hook from Franklin.

Who gets a takedown into half guard.
Who tries to pass to full mount but Franklin defends it.
Who trying to control from half guard but Franklin is working away.

Who is working for a submission of some sort.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Who has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Franklin is desperately trying to improve his position but Who has a good base and remains in mount.

Who has hold of Franklin's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Franklin manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Franklin wants to try and get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Who looking to secure an arm triangle but Franklin defends it well.
You get the feeling that Franklin really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Franklin taking shots to the head.
Who with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.

Who is working for a guillotine from mount but Franklin frees his head quite easily.
Franklin is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Franklin is breathing heavily.

Who working for a submission but Franklin is keeping him at bay.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
You get the feeling that Franklin really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Franklin tries to hold on but Who postures up.
Franklin is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Who with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Franklin is squirming around, avoiding Who's attempts to control the action.
Franklin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Who is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Franklin has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Who avoids the attempt from Franklin to control.

Who jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Franklin manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Franklin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Who on the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Who tries for a kimura but Franklin is defending well.
Franklin takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Who is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Franklin knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Franklin tries to escape but Who is in control.
Who wants to lay and pray for a moment but Franklin keeps working.

Who has an Americana. Franklin didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Who is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Who hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
