And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Medved Volohander!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Putin checks a leg kick.
Putin tries a head kick but it misses.
Putin takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Putin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Volohander.
Putin blocks a jab.
Decent striking displayed by Volohander there.
Volohander fails to land with a series of punches.
Putin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Volohander throws out the jab.
Putin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Volohander.
Putin fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Volohander has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Putin misses with a few strikes there.

Volohander misses the shot to the body.
Medved Volohander seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Putin is looking to land body kicks.
Volohander tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Putin was well out of range. Poor timing from Volohander.
Putin keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A nice combination there by Volohander.
Putin connects with an inside leg kick.
A cross from Volohander lands.
Putin misses with a head kick.
A shot to the body from Volohander misses
and Putin counters with a crisp one two that drops Volohander! Putin thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Volohander to his feet! Volohander is in big trouble!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Putin lets loose with a powerful body kick. Volohander will feel that in the morning.
Volohander looks gassed!

Putin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Volohander moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Putin looks to land a body kick but Volohander moved away.
Volohander on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Nice body kick from Putin.
Putin lands a big right hook! Volohander looks hurt but is still standing! Putin lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Volohander falls down and Putin dives in with a huge hammer fist! Volohander's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Putin runs up the ropes to celebrate with his fans!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin!
