The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Roger Lorenzo hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Ngata tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lorenzo swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Jab, jab by Lorenzo - just one landing.
Lorenzo looks to score with a jab to the body but Ngata is just out of range.
Ngata misses with a takedown attempt - Lorenzo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Lorenzo throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ngata stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Lorenzo throws a lazy right hand but Ngata sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Lorenzo scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Ngata is breathing heavily.
Horrible takedown by Ngata or perhaps it was just good defense by Lorenzo which made him look bad.
Lorenzo swings for the body but Ngata moves out of range.

and Lorenzo counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

and Lorenzo counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ngata takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Lorenzo closes the distance and clinches.
Lorenzo lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Ngata has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lorenzo avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lorenzo digs a right hand into Ngata's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Ngata's gas tank.

Ngata shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lorenzo is trying to defend but Ngata finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Lorenzo has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Ngata should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Lorenzo has tightened it up now! Ngata should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
