Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, James Soloman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hector DeLuca!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Igor Prikhodko and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Soloman gets the takedown into side control.
DeLuca looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Soloman connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused DeLuca some visible discomfort.
Soloman looking to punish the body of his opponent here but DeLuca is avoiding damage well.
DeLuca dodges the ground and pound from Soloman.
Soloman lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Soloman staying calm.
DeLuca should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Soloman is working DeLuca over with some ground and pound from side control.
DeLuca wants to control but Soloman postures up.
Soloman is trying to ground and pound but DeLuca uses the momentary lack of control by Soloman to regain half guard.

Soloman is trying to control. DeLuca wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Soloman is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. DeLuca doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Soloman.

Soloman is trying hard to land a takedown here. DeLuca sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

DeLuca gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Soloman to score an easy takedown into full guard.

DeLuca has momentary wrist control but Soloman slips an elbow through the middle.

Soloman avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Soloman working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Soloman makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Soloman controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Soloman tries to free his leg and advance position but DeLuca is retaining full guard.
Soloman is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Soloman dominated that round.
That's time! Soloman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Soloman shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Soloman was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee warns DeLuca that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Soloman is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that DeLuca can do to turn this around?
DeLuca is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Soloman takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Soloman seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down DeLuca for as long as he can get away with.
James Soloman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

DeLuca is rocked!
DeLuca is squirming around, avoiding Soloman's attempts to control the action.

Soloman wants to control the pace but DeLuca is squirming around nicely.
DeLuca is wriggling around trying to escape.

Soloman has hold of DeLuca's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and DeLuca manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

DeLuca takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Soloman is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Soloman can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as DeLuca is looking to escape.
Soloman looking to control and managing it successfully.
