The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halo connects with an inside leg kick.
A combination from Simmons does no damage.
Simmons scores with the left hand. Halo knows he should have avoided that one.
Halo showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Simmons.
Halo lands a nice shot to the body.
Simmons throws a right and a left that Halo avoids nicely.

It looks like ZPryde Simmons has been cut.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Halo.
Simmons keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Halo doesn't manage to clinch there - Simmons circles away.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Halo is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Halo needs to keep his hands up - Simmons had a free shot at his head there.
Halo avoids a punch combination nicely.

Simmons closes this distance looking for a takedown but Halo circles away.
Simmons swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Halo fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Simmons looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Halo lands a jab to Simmons's midsection.
Simmons stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Halo.
Halo lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Simmons uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Halo.
A chopping leg kick lands by Halo.
Halo fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Simmons.
Halo lands a head shot.
Halo lands a head kick. Simmons smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Halo lands with a nice body punch.

Halo lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Simmons is rocked!
Halo fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Simmons to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Simmons looks to clinch but Halo throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Simmons taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

After the fight, Nonito Halo was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
