Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Akihiro Sato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akihiro Sato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Jones!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones keeps the fight on the outside.
Jones throws a looping overhand right but Sato ducks down to avoid it.
Jones misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sato.
Horrible takedown by Jones or perhaps it was just good defense by Sato which made him look bad.
Sato tries to clinch up
and Jones counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Jones has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Sato.
Sato wants to clinch up but Jones keeps it at a distance.
Sato closes the distance looking to clinch

and Jones counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Sato's guard now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Sato on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sato tries to get out of the position.
Sato wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Jones is now in half guard.
Sato is trying to escape back to his feet but Jones uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Jones controls the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sato takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Sato tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jones wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Jones is working Sato over with some ground and pound from side control.
A lull in the action here as Jones stalls from top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Jones scoring with punches and elbows.
Jones looks up at the clock and then as Sato takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jones smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Jones scores with a couple of short elbows.
Jones in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Sato tries to bench press Jones off him but Jones keeps the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The referee asks Jones politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Jones prefers to stall for the moment though.

Jones has hold of Sato's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Sato seems comfortable defending it but Jones has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Sato is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Sato is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Jones couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Michael Jones!
Michael Jones decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
