The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rojas shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Naple as he avoids it easily.
Randy Naple seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Naple dives in and grabs Rojas's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rojas pushes down on Naple's head and hops out.
Naple tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rojas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Naple somewhat.
Naple connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

It looks like Mike Rojas has been cut.
Rojas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Naple as he jumps to the side.
Naple throws a leg kick
and Rojas counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Naple closes the distance and pushes Rojas back into the cage.
Naple prevents a takedown attempt there.
Randy Naple has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Rojas.
Rojas tries to score a body lock takedown but Naple shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
With the fighters up against the cage, Rojas throws an elbow but misses.
Rojas is looking for a takedown.

The referee is keeping an eye on Rojas - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Naple could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Naple turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Rojas is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Naple's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rojas has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Naple is working away from the top position though.
Naple moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Rojas.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Rojas tries to improve his position but Naple has taken his back! Naple has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Rojas tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Naple pushes Rojas away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
