Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Celso Neto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Oliveira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Neto might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ain't no Mountain High Enough. Jon Oliveira has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Celso Neto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Oliveira!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Reed Andrews and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neto fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Oliveira gets caught napping as Neto dives in and scores a takedown. Oliveira manages to retain guard.
Oliveira has control of Neto's left arm, preventing Neto from doing any damage.
Oliveira is trying to keep Neto in close.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jon Oliveira.
Neto shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Oliveira as he jumps to the side.
Neto is looking to clinch but Oliveira is avoiding it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Oliveira is trying to control Neto's posture but Neto avoids it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Celso Neto will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Oliveira blocks a head kick by Neto.
Neto stuffs the takedown.
Neto has a takedown stuffed.
Oliveira throws a head kick but Neto moves out of range.
Oliveira leaves Neto with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Neto lands with a kick to the ribs.
Oliveira shoots in looking for a takedown. Neto tries to sprawl out of it but Oliveira keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Neto manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Neto will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Celso Neto. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Oliveira is breathing heavily.

Neto is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Oliveira's half guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Neto accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Oliveira is on top in guard.

Oliveira passes the guard and advances to mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oliveira scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Oliveira tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Neto tries to hold on but Oliveira postures up.

Oliveira is working for a guillotine from mount but Neto frees his head quite easily.
The referee warns Neto that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Oliveira can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Neto is looking to escape.
Oliveira wants to control but Neto has made it back to half guard. Nice work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Oliveira is looking for a kimura here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Oliveira showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!


Neto shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Oliveira but Oliveira pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Neto has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Oliveira.
Oliveira shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Neto pinned against the cage. Neto gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Neto shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Oliveira is trying to defend but Neto finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Oliveira tries to roll over but Neto keeps him under control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Neto throws an elbow that misses. Oliveira uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Neto's guard. Nice move by Oliveira!

Oliveira should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Jon Oliveira comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Oliveira has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
