Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Litran Kossu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by Hoist the Colours. Kossu comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Holy Diver - Dio kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Litran Kossu!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Paulo Santos and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kossu misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Jones counters with a nice leg kick.
Kossu looks to land a right hand but Jones moved out of range.

Jones moves into the clinch successfully.

Kossu manages to break the clinch.
Kossu misses with a straight left.
Kossu misses with a right hand
and Jones counters with a low kick, right behind Kossu 's knee.
Jones slips a jab from Kossu.
Kossu avoids a kick to the body.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jones.
Kossu moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Kossu lands with a slapping head kick.
Kossu misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jones.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jones fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kossu sprawls well initially but Jones persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Jones postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

This has been an exciting period of action!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kossu preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kossu escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jones gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jones is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Jones scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Kossu tries to strike from the bottom.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kossu manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jones manages to get himself to full guard.

Jones utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that David Jones will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


A solid leg kick lands there for Jones.
Jones has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kossu.
Jab, jab by Kossu - just one landing.
Jones slips a jab and a cross from Kossu.
Jones wants to clinch up but Kossu keeps it at a distance.
Kossu looks to land a right hand but Jones moved out of range.
David Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kossu connects with a body shot.
Kossu connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Jones ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Litran Kossu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jones manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kossu on his heels. He'll look to pass Kossu's guard now, I'm sure.

Jones gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Kossu shoots in and bounces Jones off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Jones is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Kossu off and has taken his back!

Jones has Kossu flattened out and is raining down punches.

Jones is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Kossu is defending well though. Jones let's go of the attempt for now.

Jones is trying to stick to Kossu's back but Kossu is turning into Jones. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Jones's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Kossu.
