Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jade Malikai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Kurosaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malikai comes to the cage accompanied by Big in Japan - Guano Apes. The crowd seem to be enjoying Kurosaki's choice of entrance music: Thugz Mansion. Jade Malikai is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jade Malikai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tyson Kurosaki!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Bruno Hogan and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kurosaki bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Malikai's head.
Kurosaki has a takedown stuffed.
Kurosaki wants to clinch.
Malikai doesn't manage to clinch there - Kurosaki circles away.
Jade Malikai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kurosaki shoots in and drives through. Malikai sprawls well.
Kurosaki is looking to clinch but Malikai is avoiding it.
Malikai swats away the attempt to clinch by Kurosaki.

Malikai scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Malikai controls the position.

Kurosaki is trying to control Malikai's posture but Malikai avoids it.
Malikai is looking to take a break and control but Kurosaki is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Malikai connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Kurosaki some visible discomfort.
Kurosaki pushes Malikai away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Malikai gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Malikai stalling away here and it's allowed Kurosaki to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Kurosaki gets to his feet - Malikai follows without any prompting.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Malikai shoots for a double leg takedown but Kurosaki sprawls well. He's pushed Malikai's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Kurosaki swings for the body but Malikai moves out of range.
Kurosaki fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Malikai avoids it really well and circles away.
Jade Malikai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyson Kurosaki.

Kurosaki shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Malikai pinned against the cage. Malikai gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Kurosaki moves into range and clinches up with Malikai.
Malikai with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Kurosaki decides to pull guard.
Malikai scoring with some ground and pound.
Malikai pushes down on Kurosaki's leg and manages to get into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kurosaki is looking for a sweep. Malikai is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kurosaki wants to get back to his feet.
Malikai wants to advance to full mount but Kurosaki doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jade Malikai will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Kurosaki has taken the fight to the clinch.
Malikai blocks a body shot from Kurosaki.

Malikai manages to break the clinch.
Kurosaki throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Malikai.
Kurosaki misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kurosaki fails in his attempt to clinch.
Malikai changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kurosaki tries to avoid it but Malikai manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kurosaki to the ground. Kurosaki escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kurosaki looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Malikai is fending him off so far but Kurosaki persists. Nope, Malikai circles away and we're back to standing.
Malikai wants to clinch up but Kurosaki keeps it at a distance.

Kurosaki closes the distance and clinches.
Kurosaki looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Malikai throws a knee to the head but misses.
Kurosaki blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Kurosaki on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Kurosaki wants to get back to striking at distance but Malikai won't allow it.

Malikai has Kurosaki pressed against the cage, preventing Kurosaki from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Kurosaki decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kurosaki looking to sit in guard and control but Malikai gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kurosaki is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Malikai has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Malikai seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Malikai is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kurosaki has managed to free his arm - good work.
Malikai thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Malikai thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kurosaki's head.
Malikai not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Kurosaki is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Malikai pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kurosaki takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Kurosaki has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Malikai. Oh but Kurosaki has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Malikai goes limp - he's gone! Kurosaki jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Tyson Kurosaki!
