Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Bear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Winter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bob Bear has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bob Bear!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Andrew Winter!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bear lands with a good body shot.
Bear misses with a head kick.

Winter feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Winter tries to free his leg and advance position but Bear is retaining full guard.

Bear decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
No luck for Bear with that takedown attempt.
Bear fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Winter avoids it really well and circles away.
Andrew Winter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Winter gets a double leg takedown into Bear's guard.
Bear wants to stand up but Winter is controlling him.
Bear keeping moving, preventing Winter from controlling successfully.
Winter working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Winter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bear swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bear is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Winter is controlling him.
Winter trying to control but Bear is working from the bottom.
Winter landing some decent shots from guard.

Winter looking to sit in guard and control but Bear gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Winter working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Bear has passed into half guard!
Bear thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Winter wants to control but Bear is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Bear with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Winter is refusing to be controlled, as Bear sits in half guard.
Bear prevents Winter from improving his position.
Bear is keen to just control but Winter is a slippery customer.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bear fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Bear. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Winter dives in and grabs Bear's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bear pushes down on Winter's head and hops out.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Andrew Winter will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Winter shoots in for a double leg but Bear sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Winter shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bear but Bear pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Winter tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bear swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Winter looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Bob Bear has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Winter.
Bear shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Winter pinned against the cage. Winter gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Winter shoots in and bounces Bear off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Bear is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Winter is controlling him.

Winter wants to control from the top but Bear keeps moving.

Winter drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bear dives on top into guard.

Winter is trying to control the position but Bear postures up.

Winter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bear swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bear trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Winter throws a big right hand that misses.
Bear wants to stand up but Winter is controlling him.

Winter trying to control the position from guard on top but Bear is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bear can't keep his opponent in guard - Winter advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Winter with the ground and pound but Bear uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Winter scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Winter postures up and lands a big shot to Bear's brow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bear is looking to stand up but Winter isn't so interested in that idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andrew Winter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Bear circles away from the clinch attempt.

Bear closes the distance and clinches.

Bear pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Winter closes the distance looking to clinch

and Bear counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Bear decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Winter is defended easily by Bear.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bear looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Winter throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Winter fails with the takedown
and Bear counters with a two punch combo.

Bear moves into the clinch.

Bear manages to break the clinch.
Winter dives in and grabs Bear's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bear pushes down on Winter's head and hops out.
Bob Bear has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Winter.

Winter shoots in but no luck this time.
Bear shoots in for a takedown but Winter shows good takedown defense.
Bear has a takedown stuffed.
Winter leaves Bear with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Bear displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Winter.
Bob Bear is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bear shoots in but no luck this time.
Bob Bear is winning the standup battle so far.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Bear has closed the distance and engaged Winter in a clinch.

Winter pulls guard.

Bear decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Bear shoots in and drives through. Winter sprawls well.
Nice takedown defense from Bear. No joy for Winter on that attempt.
Winter tries to clinch up.
Winter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bear tries to avoid it but Winter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bear to the ground. Bear escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Horrible takedown by Winter or perhaps it was just good defense by Bear which made him look bad.

Bear gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Bear wants to stand up but Winter is controlling him.
Winter lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Bear wants to stand up but Winter is controlling him.
Bear keeping moving, preventing Winter from controlling successfully.
Bob Bear has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Winter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Winter trying to control the position from guard on top but Bear is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Winteris looking to pass into half guard but Bear pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Bear is in guard.
Andrew Winter is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Winter looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Bear lands a couple of decent looking shots.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bob Bear showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Winter has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
