Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Freddy Berg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tim Cooper!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooper stuffs the takedown.
A head kick misses from Berg.

Berg gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cooper to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Berg can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cooper controls the pace.

Berg is working an open guard so Cooper takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Cooper scores with a sloppy right hand. Berg should have avoided that one.

Berg tries to keep at a distance but Cooper has taken the fight into the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Berg is trying to force a seperation but Cooper has the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Cooper tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Berg fails with the takedown

and Cooper counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Berg's guard now.

Cooper slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Cooper content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Berg tries to improve position but can't.

Cooper decides to stand back up.
Berg tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cooper paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Cooper closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cooper lands in his opponent's guard.

Cooper stands and steps away. Berg gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Cooper wants to break the clinch but can't.

Cooper gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Berg trying to keep a closed guard but Cooper is proving a slippery customer.

Cooper decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Berg, up you get!

Berg swats away the attempt to clinch by Cooper.

and Cooper counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Cooper.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Berg tries to close the distance and clinch but Cooper swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Berg jumps guard but Cooper stands there with Berg around his waist. Berg gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Cooper escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Cooper decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Berg's guard.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Cooper has eaten all the pies!

Berg doesn't manage to clinch there - Cooper circles away.

Well Cooper has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
