Sartre Diaz has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Davor Sartre Diaz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ramon Labayen!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Kavanagh and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sartre Diaz misses with a looping right.
Sartre Diaz uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Labayen.
Davor Sartre Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Labayen slips a jab and a cross from Sartre Diaz.
Labayen lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Nice body punch from Sartre Diaz.
Sartre Diaz takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Sartre Diaz takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Sartre Diaz misses with an uppercut. Labayen saw that one coming.
Labayen throws a hook but Sartre Diaz avoids it easily.
Labayen throws a leg kick but Sartre Diaz sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Nice defenses there by Labayen.
Sartre Diaz throws the left hand but Labayen avoids the punch easily.
Sartre Diaz on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Sartre Diaz thows a left - swing and a miss!
Sartre Diaz takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Sartre Diaz is breathing heavily.

Labayen moves into range and clinches up with Sartre Diaz.
Sartre Diaz is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Labayen's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Labayen will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Sartre Diaz up against the cage.
A short body shot lands from Labayen as the two fighters clinch.

Labayen has hold of one of Sartre Diaz's legs. Sartre Diaz is fighting the takedown attempt but Labayen gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Labayen sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Sartre Diaz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Labayen on the ground.

Labayen thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Labayen passes into half guard.
Labayen frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Labayen controlling his opponent.

Labayen landing strikes from the mount and Sartre Diaz is in trouble!
Labayen lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Labayen in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Labayen raining down shots from the mount!
Labayen cracks Sartre Diaz with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Labayen working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Labayen cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!


Sartre Diaz is rocked!
Sartre Diaz takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Labayen's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ramon Labayen!
