The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carlos misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Silver gets a takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Silver looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Silver is looking to stall here but Carlos recovers full guard.
Carlos keeping moving, preventing Silver from controlling successfully.
Silver must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Silver drops back, looking for a kneebar! Carlos looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Carlos looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Carlos!
Carlos looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Silver is avoiding damage well.

Carlos tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Silver is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Carlos asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Carlos has hold of Silver's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Silver seems comfortable defending it but Carlos has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Silver is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Silver is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Carlos couldn't care less - he's delighted!
