Duncan's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Haka . von Herrmann is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Rammstein - Buck Dich. Butch von Herrmann has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Duncan is defended easily by von Herrmann.
Duncan missing with a left hand there. von Herrmann was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Duncan jabbing away but nothing is landing.

von Herrmann throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
A nice inside leg kick there by Duncan. That's going to slow von Herrmann down.

Duncan lands a big head kick that sends von Herrmann tumbling to the mat! Duncan takes a step backwards and waves von Herrmann back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Duncan lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Duncan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but von Herrmann manages to avoid it.
Duncan is looking to land body kicks.
von Herrmann is trying hard to land a takedown here. Duncan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Tom Duncan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Butch von Herrmann.
Duncan tries to clinch up but von Herrmann circles away and keeps his distance.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Duncan paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

von Herrmann is trying desperately to land a takedown but Duncan is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for von Herrmann.
von Herrmann walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
von Herrmann shoots in for a takedown but Duncan shows good takedown defense.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
A punch lands to the side of Duncan 's head but he takes it in his stride.

von Herrmann's corner calls for a 1-2. von Herrmann obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
No luck for Duncan with that takedown attempt.

and Duncan counters with a nice body shot.

von Herrmann avoids a punch combination nicely.
von Herrmann shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Duncan's guard.

von Herrmann throws an elbow that misses. Duncan uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in von Herrmann's guard. Nice move by Duncan!
Duncan slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Duncan decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

von Herrmann swings and misses with a hook to the body.

von Herrmann throws a big shot that misses.
Duncan explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
von Herrmann is breathing heavily.
Duncan misses with an uppercut. von Herrmann saw that one coming.
Duncan drops von Herrmann with a beautiful combination! von Herrmann stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Duncan is looking for the KO!
von Herrmann is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
von Herrmann is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Duncan just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! von Herrmann has gone limp and this one is over!
