Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Corey Minor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Firnanda Talha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Firnanda Talha!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Dean Styles and Chad Campbell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Talha is looking to clinch but Minor is avoiding it.
Talha with a lazy takedown attempt

and Minor counters with a nice double leg into side control. Talha won't be happy with that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Minor cracks Talha with a big elbow.
Talha is trying to control Minor's posture but Minor avoids it.
Talha is trying to buck Minor off.
Minor tries to move into full mount but can't pass Talha's legs.
Minor working the ground and pound but Talha is defending the strikes.
Talha is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Minor's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Talha wants to control but Minor is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Talha pushes Minor off looking to stand but Minor dives back in and keeps control.
Talha gets full guard.
Talha pulls Minor in close to prevent any damage.
Minor tries to free his leg and advance position but Talha is retaining full guard.
Talha is trying to control the position but Minor postures up.
Minor slips nicely into half guard.

Talha makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Talha.

Talha is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Talha working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Minor on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Minor tries to get out of the position.

Talha seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Talha winds up and cracks Minor with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Talha tries to pass to full mount but Minor defends it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Minor keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Minor on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Talha misses with a head shot. Minor uses the momentum to regain guard.
Talha is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Talha stands and throws Minor's legs to the side, diving into side control.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Talha throws a hook to the side of Minor's head but Minor sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Talha drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Minor is not content to let Talha control the position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Minor takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Minor gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Minor is in a horrible position here. Talha smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Talha cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Minor is rocked!
Talha has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Talha scoring with strikes but Minor is staying in there.
Oh Minor is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Minor takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Talha landing punches.
Talha loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Minor scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Talha land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Talha stands and salutes the crowd.
