The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volchenkov wants to clinch.
Baker keeps the fight on the outside.

Baker closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Volchenkov quickly recovers to half guard.
Baker frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Bryan Baker.
Volchenkov is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Baker jabs Volchenkov to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Volchenkov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Baker swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Volchenkov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Baker manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Volchenkov tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Volchenkov tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Baker counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Volchenkov throws a leg kick

and Baker counters with a nice double leg into side control. Volchenkov won't be happy with that.
