PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Dredd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zirry Swan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dredd kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Static X = Push it. Swan is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Blame it on my ADD. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Wagner Zegers and Nard Betker.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dredd shoots in and gets a takedown into Swan's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Dredd is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Dredd stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Swan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Swan can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dredd controls the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jake Dredd wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Swan falls off balance throwing a combination

and Dredd decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Swan's guard.

Swan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dredd. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jake Dredd.
Dredd shoots in for a takedown but Swan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Swan tried to score with a low kick but Dredd checks it.
Dredd defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Swan.
Dredd has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Swan.
Swan fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Zirry Swan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dredd blocks a head kick by Swan.
Swan throws a front kick that sends Dredd stumbling back into the cage.
Dredd is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Swan looks to land a body kick but Dredd moved away.
Dredd looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Swan is fending him off so far but Dredd persists. Nope, Swan circles away and we're back to standing.
Swan is looking to clinch.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Swan throws a push kick but Dredd slaps the foot to one side.
Swan stuffs the takedown attempt from Dredd. Dredd gets slowly back to his feet.

Swan clobbers Dredd with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Oooooh!!! Swan has knocked Dredd down with a huge combo! Swan steps away and waves a wobbly Dredd back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Dredd is rocked!

It looks like Jake Dredd has been cut.
Swan throws a head kick but Dredd moves out of range.
Swan fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Dredd checks it well.
Dredd shoots in looking for a takedown. Swan tries to sprawl out of it but Dredd keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Swan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Dredd shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Swan is trying to defend but Dredd finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Dredd is looking to pass Swan's guard but actually Swan recovers to full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Swan throws a nice inside leg kick.
Dredd fails to land the takedown.
Dredd tries to score a power double leg takedown but Swan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dredd somewhat.

Swan connects with a leg kick. Dredd looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Swan lands a big right hand that sends Dredd crashing to the mat! Swan stays standing though and waves Dredd back to his feet!
Oh Dredd is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dredd takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Swan tries to clinch up.
Swan throws a quick head kick that knocks Dredd silly! This fight is all over! What a finish! Swan is up on the cage, taking in the applause from the crowd.
