The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pratchett closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Montaray to the mat! Montaray manages to get full guard.
Montaray manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pratchett manages to get himself to full guard.
Pratchett really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Montaray. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pratchett is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Montaray thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Pratchett is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Montaray's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Montaray's back!

Pratchett looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Montaray bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Montaray thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Pratchett is not content to let Montaray control the position.

Montaray is working to tighten is grip on Pratchett's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Pratchett has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Montaray is really squeezing tight and eventually Pratchett passes out! Montaray breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
