The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Nova.
Penn rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Nova counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
A telegraphed right hand from Penn misses the target.
Nova swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Nova scores with a shot to the body.
Penn takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Nova throws an overhand right that lands on Penn's shoulder, as Penn tries to avoid the shot.
Penn lands a jab-cross combination.
Nova misses with the body kick
and Penn makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Penn throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Penn keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Penn moves out of range of the body kick from Nova.
Penn throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Nova's head.
Penn lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Nova lands with a slapping head kick.
Nova is looking to chop away at Penn's legs.
Penn misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Penn ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Nova throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Penn bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Nova's head backwards.
Penn drops his hands momentarily and Nova takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Nova tried to score with a low kick but Penn checks it.
Penn avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Neo Nova is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nova walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Nova throws a chopping leg kick but Penn manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Decent striking displayed by Nova there.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nova lands a hook that snaps the head of Penn backwards.

Nova lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Penn works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Penn misses with a short punch on the inside.
Nova lands a hook to the side of the head.
Penn lands a body punch in the clinch.

Penn tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Nova avoids it.

Penn is rocked!
Penn's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Penn is still on wobbly legs! Can Nova finish him?
Nova gets through Penn's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Nova creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Penn with a big uppercut! Penn tries to clinch up but Nova pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Penn to the mat! Penn covers up and Nova unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
