The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Johnson is defended easily by Lambert.
Lambert throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Johnson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lambert is fending him off so far but Johnson persists. Nope, Lambert circles away and we're back to standing.
Johnson has a takedown stuffed.
Gauthier Lambert has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tj Johnson.
Lambert misses with a combination

and Johnson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Lambert!

Johnson goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Lambert turns into him and now he's in Johnson's guard.
Lambert knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Johnson on the ground.

Johnson is looking for a triangle but Lambert pushes his legs off easily.

Lambert is looking to stand up but Johnson won't let him.

Johnson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lambert gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Lambert would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Johnson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lambert doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lambert manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Lambert has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Johnson is proving hard to escape from.

Lambert is sitting in close to Johnson's body. Johnson has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Lambert is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Lambert is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Johnson.
