The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDermid tries to clinch but Steve Austin moves out of range.
McDermid on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Steve Austin. Steve Austin obviously looking to wear him down.
McDermid tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

It looks like Shamus McDermid has been cut.
Shamus McDermid seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McDermid looks to clinch
and Steve Austin counters with a good low kick that McDermid was not able to check.
McDermid throws out a loose jab but Steve Austin uses good head movement to avoid it.
Steve Austin lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McDermid closes the distance but Steve Austin moves to the side
and Steve Austin counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from McDermid lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Steve Austin has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Steve Austin and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Steve Austin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Steve Austin's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Steve Austin duly obliges.
Nice defenses there by McDermid.

Steve Austin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
McDermid tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Steve Austin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Steve Austin counters with a head kick that drops McDermid to the mat! McDermid scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McDermid motions for Steve Austin to come forward. McDermid throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Steve Austin throws a sloppy head kick and McDermid moves out of range easily.

Steve Austin lands a brutal head kick. McDermid looks out on his feet and Steve Austin throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
