Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mitsuomi Takayanagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Armor King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King has chosen Hellbound as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Takayanagi with that takedown attempt.

Takayanagi moves into range and clinches up with King.

King gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Takayanagi could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Takayanagi is positioning himself well to prevent King advancing to mount.
King tries to pass the half guard into mount. Takayanagi knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Takayanagi is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of King's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take King's back!
King turns into Takayanagi and is now in his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Takayanagi wants to improve his position but instead King has moved into half guard.
King uses his free foot to push down on Takayanagi's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Takayanagi.

King lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
King postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Takayanagi looks a forlorn figure.

Takayanagi is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Takayanagi tries to lock up and control but King gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Takayanagi regains half guard.
Takayanagi is breathing heavily.
King is tying to control. Takayanagi wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

King passes the guard and advances to mount!

King jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Takayanagi is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Takayanagi and King has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Takayanagi is not content to let King control the position.
King tries to stand but Takayanagi is controlling his head.
King looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Takayanagi is avoiding damage well.
Takayanagi can't do much from the bottom here.
King misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
King lands some shots froms side control.

King postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Takayanagi is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on King's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Takayanagi is trying to maintain the position but King is very close to passing his half guard.
King landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

King seems to be working for a kimura but Takayanagi defends the submission attempt.
King is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
King stands and throws Takayanagi's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
King working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

King trying to control the action but Takayanagi is working from the bottom.
Takayanagi gets back to half guard.
King working Takayanagi over with strikes.
Takayanagi moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
King throwing strikes but missing.
Takayanagi controls King momentarily but King frees himself.
Takayanagi doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
King postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Takayanagi is trying to control the position but King postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Armor King dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

King drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Takayanagi manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Takayanagi wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
King looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Takayanagi has the hooks in. King is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Takayanagi is trying to stick to King's back but King is turning into Takayanagi. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Takayanagi's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by King.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

King has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Takayanagi to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! King is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Takayanagi pulls down on the head and he's put King to sleep! This one is all over!
