PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donnie Darko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Savage's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Bon Jovi - It's my life. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jackson Savage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Donnie Darko!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Savage throws a leg kick which misses Darko's front leg but catches the back leg as Darko tries to avoid it.

Darko closes the distance and clinches.

Savage works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Darko wants to sweep but no luck.

Savage drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Darko manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Savage has Darko in his guard.
Darko wants to pass the guard but Savage is keeping the position.

Savage isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Darko stacks Savage on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Darko!

Savage takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Darko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Savage drops back, looking for a kneebar! Darko looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Darko looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Darko!

Darko throws a strike but Savage avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
