Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between EJ Tap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robb Spewak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tap's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Pop Lock and Drop It. Spewak has chosen The German National Anthem as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, EJ Tap!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Robb Spewak!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Emerson Jorge and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tap looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Spewak is fending him off so far but Tap persists. Nope, Spewak circles away and we're back to standing.
Spewak keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Tap throws a jab but it's blocked by Spewak.
Nice takedown defense from Spewak. No joy for Tap on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for EJ Tap. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tap scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Tap fails to land the takedown.
Tap shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Spewak pinned against the cage. Spewak gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Tap could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tap thows a left - swing and a miss!
Tap slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Tap shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Spewak pinned against the cage. Spewak gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Tap shoots in for a double leg but Spewak sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Spewak stuffs the takedown.
No luck for Tap with that takedown attempt.
Tap throws a wild body kick that Spewak sees coming a mile off.
Tap wants to clinch up but Spewak keeps it at a distance.
A big right from Tap misses.

Tap drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Spewak tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Tap presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Tap punching from mount but Spewak doing a good job of avoiding damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Tap jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Spewak manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Tap is breathing heavily.

Tap goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Spewak has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Tap but great work by Spewak.

Spewak decides to stand up, so the ref orders Tap to his feet.
Spewak tries a head kick but it misses.
Tap shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Spewak pinned against the cage. Spewak gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Spewak throws a shot to the body.
Spewak lands a nice leg kick that just misses Tap's sensitive parts.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Spewak misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Tap shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tap tries to clinch up but Spewak circles away and keeps his distance.
Tap closes this distance looking for a takedown but Spewak circles away.
Spewak slow jab from Tap misses its intended target.
Tap closes the distance and clinches up with Spewak, looking for a takedown. Tap pushes Spewak against the cage but Spewak circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Tap trying to control but Spewak is working from the bottom.
Spewak can't keep his opponent in guard - Tap advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Tap thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Tap works his foot free and advances to mount.

Tap goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Spewak turns into him and now he's in Tap's guard.

Tap has his foot on Spewak's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Spewak works his way back into a safe position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Robb Spewak will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Tap has a takedown stuffed.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tap.
Tap misses with a takedown attempt - Spewak sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Tap shoots in looking for a takedown. Spewak tries to sprawl out of it but Tap keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Spewak manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

EJ Tap seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Spewak throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Tap fails with the takedown.
Spewak misses with a few strikes there.
Spewak drops Tap with a left and a right! Oh, Tap is hurt - Spewak dives into side control looking to finish!


Tap is rocked!


It looks like EJ Tap has been cut.

Spewak stands up.
Oh Tap is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Spewak connects with a nice cross there... Tap is looking wobbly and Spewak recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Tap to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Spewak jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Robb Spewak!
