PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Igor Kolobnev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Osana Bin Laden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Osana Bin Laden was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Igor Kolobnev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Osana Bin Laden!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Wagner Zegers and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bin Laden will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kolobnev misses with a head kick.
Kolobnev leaves Bin Laden with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Horrible takedown by Bin Laden or perhaps it was just good defense by Kolobnev which made him look bad.
Igor Kolobnev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Osana Bin Laden.

Kolobnev gets tackled into the cage by Bin Laden. Bin Laden maintains the clinch.

Bin Laden tries to pull guard but Kolobnev holds him up against the cage and eventually Bin Laden drops back down to his feet.
Kolobnev lands with a left to the head.
Kolobnev lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Bin Laden backwards.


It looks like Osana Bin Laden has been cut.

Bin Laden tries to pull guard but Kolobnev holds him up against the cage and eventually Bin Laden drops back down to his feet.
Bin Laden is trying to drag Kolobnev to the mat but Kolobnev just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Bin Laden wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Kolobnev manages to break the clinch.
Bin Laden fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Kolobnev scores with a nice right hand.
Kolobnev lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Kolobnev tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Bin Laden darts in and clinches Kolobnev up against the cage.
Bin Laden wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Kolobnev breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Kolobnev throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kolobnev fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Bin Laden takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kolobnev plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Bin Laden gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Bin Laden goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kolobnev prevents it.
A nice left hand lands by Kolobnev.

Kolobnev's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Bin Laden wants the takedown. Kolobnev is fighting it off but Bin Laden persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Kolobnev's guard against the cage.
Kolobnev wants to get back to his feet but Bin Laden is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Osana Bin Laden was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Bin Laden shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Kolobnev counters with a nice uppercut.

Bin Laden takes a kick to the side of the head.
Bin Laden shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kolobnev but Kolobnev pushes him off and we're back to square one.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kolobnev throws a head kick but Bin Laden moves out of range.
Bin Laden shoots for a takedown but Kolobnev saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Igor Kolobnev dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Osana Bin Laden's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
and Kolobnev counters with a one-two to the body.

Bin Laden is trying to pull guard but Kolobnev has him pressed against the cage.

Bin Laden has Kolobnev pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kolobnev manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Bin Laden changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kolobnev fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Kolobnev lands a big head kick that sends Bin Laden tumbling to the mat! Kolobnev takes a step backwards and waves Bin Laden back to his feet - he wants the finish!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kolobnev lands a nice looking kick to the body. Bin Laden takes a step back to recover.
Bin Laden is still on wobbly legs! Can Kolobnev finish him?
Bin Laden leaves his chin hanging out and Kolobnev seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Bin Laden crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Igor Kolobnev!
