Ramos has chosen Dirt off Your Shoulder as his entrance music. Helios Kyle has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Helios Kyle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ryan Ramos!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kyle shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Kyle is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ramos sees it coming and defends easily.

Ramos is defending against the submission attempts here by Kyle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kyle is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Kyle is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ramos has managed to free his arm - good work.

Kyle is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Ramos is pressing down on Kyle's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Kyle drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ramos dives on top into guard.
Ramos trying to control but Kyle is working from the bottom.

Kyle looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Kyle is breathing heavily.
Ramos thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kyle's head.
Kyle avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ramos.

Ramos looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kyle is staying active underneath Ramos, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Kyle tries to roll over but Ramos keeps him under control.

Ramos wants to take a breather but Kyle is having none of it.
Ramos throwing shots but Kyle is blocking nicely.

Ramos is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kyle doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ramos.

Kyle wants to improve his position but Ramos is controlling well.

Kyle is refusing to be controlled, as Ramos sits in half guard.

Kyle is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ramos pulls his head out easily.
Ramos throwing shots but Kyle is blocking nicely.

Kyle keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Ramos has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Kyle actively working from the bottom here.

Kyle is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ramos pulls his head out easily.
Ramos uses his free foot to push down on Kyle's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kyle.
Ramos tries to control but Kyle wriggling away.
Kyle is trying to escape the mount.
Ramos forces the positional change into back control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ramos sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Kyle taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ryan Ramos!
After the fight, Ryan Ramos was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
