The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kentaurus enables Daveson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kentaurus manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Daveson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Daveson is looking to work some ground and pound but Kentaurus has wrist control.
Daveson's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Daveson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Kentaurus with a poor takedown

and Daveson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kentaurus won't be happy with that.
Daveson has knee on belly momentarily but Kentaurus bucks him off and regains half guard.
Daveson is trying to control the action in half guard but Kentaurus is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Daveson passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kentaurus!

Daveson gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Daveson is trying to drag Kentaurus to the mat but Kentaurus just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Daveson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kentaurus is trying to defend but Daveson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Daveson looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Daveson is looking for a kimura but Kentaurus is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Daveson to get the leverage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Daveson escapes and gets back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kentaurus shoots in and drives through. Daveson sprawls well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
